3D Printer Filament
3D printer filament is a plastic that can be used to print three-dimensional objects with an additive process such as fused deposition modelling (FDM) or fused filament fabrication (FFF). Fused deposition modelling is the most commonly used 3d printing process and one of the cheapest at this time.

The FDM process will require the use of printer filament, usually 1 kg rolls, that the printer will use to fabricate your design.
3D printing is an additive process, which means the 3d printer filament will be melted and layered down onto a print bed layer by layer until your 3d object is complete. Depending on how large it is, 3d printing can take hours to days to complete the 3D-printed object.
What is 3D Printer Filament?
3D printer filament is the fuel that makes 3D printing possible. With a wide range of colours and grades available, FDM printing has been rated one of the most practical forms of extrusion for printing.
The 3D print filament comes in a large range of colours and types. You can choose from different grades, including nylon and ABS, for the most exacting detail. The benefits of using this filament include its ease of use. With sufficient heat, it doesn't require any additional processing to maintain consistency. In addition, you get product finishes that are crisp and durable.
We have a wide range of colours available with multiple types of Filament including, ABS, PET-G, PLA, Carbon Fibre, Wood, Silk and more!
Read on for more information on our different types of 3d printer filament.
What is ABS Filament?
ABS filament is a popular material for your 3D printing needs. This high-quality filament is made from actual Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene which you'll find in many everyday household objects including pipes, home appliances, and toys. When printed nicely, ABS looks shiny and sturdy while still being flexible. Printing with ABS will give a more durable finish to your projects, more suitable for prints that require durability and sturdiness, ABS would be used more for functional prints. ABS can also be glued and painted and can withstand higher temps than PETG or PLA.
What is Pet-G Filament?
PETG is the clear and reliable workhorse of 3D printer filaments. PETG is great for makers who require a filament which is durable, but is also still friendly to most machines. ABS has higher heat deflection properties, but does not print as easily or flexibly as PETG. PETG's clarity and flexibility mean this is the go-to filament for most applications. PETG is an excellent middle ground between PLA and ABS. PETG is stronger than PLA and also more durable for outdoor use since the material has UV resistance that leaves its prints protected against weathering or wear-and-tear factors in your surrounding environment.
What is PLA Filament?
The best 3D printing material for beginners and professionals alike is PLA. It's a renewable, biodegradable alternative to plastic that requires no special care or maintenance because it breaks down in natural composters after use! Polylactic acid, or PLA for short, is a popular material used in desktop 3D printing. It can be printed at low temperatures and does not require heated beds like other materials do, making it one of the best choices, however it is not as durable as ABS or PLA.
